🧠Why I Left Obsidian PKM For Conscious College

When we immerse ourselves too deep into Obsidian PKM as College Freshman:

• We mistake our notetaking tool for the process of learning and growing
• We procrastinate on truly applying, creating, and reflecting using our notes
• And we value PKM over what we should really be focusing on in college, building our career, growing conscious relationships, defining our life purpose, and practicing spirituality

I say this because I experienced all of the challenges above. I moved into Obsidian PKM three years ago to escape structure, improve my grades, interconnectedness of thought, mindful information consumption, and studying, but then I got trapped into PKM for the sake of PKM.

To be clear: Obsidian is amazing. I still use it. It's got incredible plug ins, community, self-hosting, Nick Milo, John Mavrick, and more. But there are three points I want to make about the dangers of when we get too immersed in it. It's these three points that eventually led me to make the huge decision to re-brand my entire channel to Conscious College despite getting hundreds of thousands of views on my Obsidian content and making $10,000s of thousands of dollars from my courses.
